1963 MGB ROADSTER
1963 MGB Roadster
This is a "pull handle" model roadster with the 3 bearing engine and narrow transmission tunnel which make them differ to later MGB's, as such its ideal to rebuild to standard spec or to modify to a
Historic race/rally car as it would be FIA eligable and suitbale for events like Goodwood.
It was built in December 1963 and was dispatched to the USA in January 1964
Originally it was Iris Blue with a blue interior and blue hood (the original colour can be seen showing in many areas on the car)
It was supplied with; wire wheels, non-overdrive gearbox, white wall tyres, anti-roll bar, MPH speedo, Heater, ash tray, pack away hood and rear seat cushion when new from the factory
This car has just arrived from the USA West Coast where it has spent its life
Bodywise, it does need floors and sills, the doors, boot, wings etc are all saveable as is the boot floor, it does need some attention to the tops of the inner wings where the wings attach near
the front of the car - but these are all easy repairs and it needs far, far less welding than any UK car would. The bonnet is a steel one. Spring hangers etc are solid
The seats are there - but need a rebuild - It does come with an original "banjo" steering wheel. The windscreen frame is present - but it has no glass.
The engine and gearbox, prop and diff/axle are all inplace - it rolls easily (in fact I backed off the adjusters on rear brakes to help it roll and these undid with no effort at all!)
It’s currently left hand drive - but we do have a RHD dash with dials which can be supplied as seen in the pictures - or you can have the LHD one instead
This is a great opportunity to own a very early car and it’s a very sound base for a rebuild to original spec - or as a historic race/rally car.
All import duties are paid, USA title is present and a NOVA certificate will be supplied to enable you to register the car.
